Student National Championship and leg operation

My leg is finally operated. It has been very painful but now it has been starting to get better. Last weekend we had student national championship where I did both powerlifting and weightlifting. Weightlifting went well but I had some problems with my powerlifting and I am not very satisfied with my result. There is video in the end.

We had our little x-mas party with my powerlifting friends and I gotta say we had so great time! I will miss my friends when I need to move to Germany again.

My leg was operated in Turku in Terveystalo. The operation took only 1.5 hours and I needed to stay in a hospital 7 hours. I was at home in the evening and then my sufferings started. My leg hurted 24/7 three days and then – nothing. Since Thursday it has not hurt at all and I have felt myself  very good. I am not so tired anymore and I have started to study a bit. Here is some pictures

I have had some problems to cook or to go to shower by myself so my friends have needed to help me. It has been very frustrating to depend on other’s help. But I will survive . Like I always do.  Tomorrow I will go to Riihimäki to watch competitions and I will try to write you more next week. I will start training t so I might have something to write about.

Bis bald

Last days in Pilsen

I haven’t got time to write – sorry about that…

Johanna Kankus was lifting on Thursday. Her competition wasn’t so successful and unfortunately she missed in the bench. In conclusion, the result of our team of female lifters was pretty crappy because normally Team Finland has been the second or third best team.

Me and Jossu took a taxi and visited Olympia. It is a shopping center in Pilsen but I did not find anything special there, just one top and one shirt. Johanna and the other girls were talking about going to the Pub so we needed to hurry because choosing clothes isn’t so a quick job.

In the pub people have tap in their own table and on the screens you can see a calculation on how much your group has been drinking beer. There are many the Pubs in Czech Republic as well as in Germany and on the screen you can also see your “result” compared to the Pubs in other countries. We were table number 12.

Jossu left on Friday and I moved to another room. We had a suite and because Mepsu left on Friday too I went to the suite with Johanna and Mepa. Nothing special happened on Friday or Saturday. We ate, watched competitions and hung around. I will add some pictures because they are much more interesting.

On Sunday it was nice to see the super heavy guys lifting.  They made awesome results and the last deadlift 397,5 kgs was  a great ending to Worlds.

Banquet was in the evening and Kenneth Sandvik was selected to the Hall of Fame. It was a great day for Kenta but also a great day for Finland.  It makes me think how many years, how many working hours and how much competition succees and failures you need to face if you want to be something. I have been lifting now for three years so I should not be so tough on myself – I need time and hard work.

We danced a bit there too and of course I needed to take plenty of pictures, which are telling more than 10000 words.

Now I am finally in Finland and I felt a bit empty. It is the first time for 2 years I do not have a training program and I need to try to concentrate on my studies a bit.  I will start working in Stuttgart in February and I need to move to Helsinki in the end of the month. Huge changes are coming and they will take plenty of my time. Just as my leg operation which will force me to stop squatting and deadlifting for a while.  But always is a chance to bench!

Ps.  You should go check this out. Even if there are some people talking shit about taking drugs and my masculine looks, there are still those who trust me. People should understand how much work and time every kilo in the bar takes. But hey! I am proud of me! Someone is reading my blog and checking out my videos! :)

Dropping some weight and the lifting day

Edit: I found a discussion about commenting on my blog and here are some tips: Click on the headline (name of my article) and then roll the page downwards. There will be a space where you can write your comment.

I needed to drop 500 grams before I went to bed. I decided not to go to sauna. Instead I took a warm bath and it was even more frustrating than sauna :)

I was so stressed that I almost puked on the stage - I handled my squats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My back was hurting like hell but I was pretty happy with my 205 kg squat. Bench was a joke because I needed to lift with my F6. My second last warm-up was 95 kg and surprisingly I lifted it from the chest. :) So I dropped my starters and started with 110 because I wanted a result, Deadlift was technically pretty ok but  I hurt my back with my last dl…

Now I need to start preparing for my leg operation which will be in two weeks. It feels so odd that I do not need to prepare for competitions anymore. Now I can finally train only RAW lifts!

Plzen and first days

I am now here – for the first time taking part in Senior Worlds. And I am so muscleless (can I use that word for my no muscle body?). You can see from those ladies how many hours they have spent to have such a body! I want too!!!!

My father dropped us, me and Jossu,at airport. There we waited for Johanna Kankus and Mervi Rantamäki because we had the same flight. We were at Plzen about 8 o´clock and then was time for dinner and sleep. I love this hotel – it is awesome! Competitions are held here too so I do not need to move anywhere. My bodyweight is fine too.

Now I need to tell you about my bag because my lovely mum gave it to me. It was a present because she knew how much I have been wishing for a new pink bag. It is awesome!

Of course I needed to take my lucky crab with me. It has a value for me, that can be not measured in money. Like you know there is the game called “geokätköily” in Finland so we decided to play “rapukätköily” with Jossu. Like you see I met Petteri in store center so he needed to pose with my crab. :)

I accidentally bought new shoes too (sry mum…)  :) but Jossu and Mervi bought too so there is nothing to be a ashame about. I found a lovely hat too (a picture added). hanging around was so hard I needed spend rest of the day in the hotel room and made some study works. I will not tell you more now, because I need to start to prepare for tomorrows competition. I hope I have better new to tell than last time in Toronto.

Goodbye Finland!

I am leaving tomorrow to Pilsen. I won’t tell you anything about my trainings because there is not so much to write about. But I can say I snatched 60 kgs ;) I will try to write everyday in Pilsen as I did in Canada too so my mum does not need to keep calling me 24/7 :D

I have been in such a hurry and I realized I need to take some time just for myself. I haven’t met my grandparents for a while not to mention my parents and granny. I felt very sad about it because I have promised several times to visit them. But I will fix my schedule problems as soon as I am back to Finland. Now I can only concentrate on lifting and try to do my best.

Here you can see my lifts. I will lift on Wednesday 14:00 (GMT +1) (Finnish time 15:00 ;) ) and hopefully I will lift in the second group. We will see.

But I need to go to read some Pohjarakenteet (Foundation structures). BORING! I need to do my exam before I can start my trip to Czech Republic.
